The Gole del Calore are a series of five deep incisions carved into the rock by the flowing waters of the Calore Lucano river. They are located in the upper part of the Valle del Calore, in the territory of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano and are characterized by suggestive excavations with rocky walls that drop to the peak.
The Gole del Calore are very interesting from a naturalistic point of view. The presence of the otter, the brown trout, the dipper, the kingfisher and the spectacled salamander was found in the surrounding environment. The flora of the undergrowth is also very rich and varied, in which there are valerian, ferns, butcher's broom, aconite, myrtle berries and many other species.
